Like many, I was a lonely kid.
At some point during my childhood, my family got a digital point-and-shoot, and so I became a lonely kid with a camera. After going through every single setting and putting together some really embarrassing photoshoots, I decided to study arts, and in particular audiovisual. Through my teenage years I got to work closely with film photography, and to this day the hours I spent in the school’s darkroom with only the faint red light and the strong smell of chemicals  are some of my best memories.

For many years, photography was all I wanted to do, and then, suddenly, it wasn’t. I turned to books, studied literature, linguistics, and ended up learning French and moving to Paris. It was in Paris that I discovered what I really liked in photography – reportage. And then gently, but surely, I started photographing again.

To put it briefly, I have been photographing since I was a kid and through misadventure have fallen in love with documentary photography. Whether for a corporate event, a dance festival or a wedding, I love capturing people without interfering – a passing smile, a gentle touch – softly, and discreetly. I have also kept my love for film and shoot it mainly for my own amusement, here and there.

I come from Lisbon, live in Paris and would be happy to work wherever you are.
